I am 43 years old and was born in Punta Arenas, Magallanes, Chile. My life has been deeply connected to fly fishing since childhood, thanks to my father who taught me my first techniques with a one-hand rod—at a time when fly fishing was not yet as popular as it is today.
Over the years, my passion for fishing grew, leading me to work as a guide in Torres del Paine (Serrano River) and Tierra del Fuego (Rio Grande, Chile), where I have guided both expert and amateur anglers. My desire to meet other fishermen motivated me to participate in numerous fishing clinics and events, both in Chile and around the world.
I am largely a self-taught angler, but my guiding experience has been professionally developed, enriched by the opportunity to learn from renowned figures in the fishing world. This approach has helped me avoid being confined to a single technique. Over the years, guiding them has allowed me to acquire new skills and techniques, as they traveled through different rivers worldwide under various conditions. This exposure has also introduced me to new equipment, including different brands of rods and reels that have recently entered the national market.
Currently, I am an active member of the Fly Fishing Club in Chile, where I continue to learn from scientific studies about the life cycles of trout and other species, especially how they are affected by climate change.
With over 23 years of experience, my ongoing desire to improve my techniques has led me to join the great Salmologic brand. I appreciate the opportunity to be part of this community, and I look forward to continuing to promote the wonderful passion of fly fishing in the remote and beautiful region of Patagonia.
