My favorite phrase: A true switch rod.

The concept and the description of switch rods was first introduced in 2008 when I designed and developed the first switch rod ever. The purpose and the idea of a switch rods was clear… to design and develop a rod that could be used both as a single hand rod and as a double hand rod when needed – and a rod you can switch to either hand, depending on which side of the river you are on. Why I decided back then to name this rod/concept “A true switch rod” was because you could use this rod, not only as a single hand rod or double hand rod, but you could also easily “switch” the rod over to the left hand (if you were right-handed) and thereby have the line/loop traveling on the opposite side. In this way, it did not matter if you were on the right bank or the left bank, or if the wind was on your casting arm.

Therefore, I can proudly state that I invented the original switch rod and the switch rod concept, despite what others in the business may claim.  Since 2008, I have continued to improve on this concept, and it has been a great success for salmologic.

The Reborn 11’0” 18 grams/278 grains rod is yet another great switch rod from us. For the last 3 years, we have worked intensively to improve what was possible, yet keep the original switch rod concept intact.
